Updated Pre-Viz | Major Project | Year 3

Updated Pre-viz which now includes text synced to the voiceovers. Main question cards are missing - font will be moved in the final version to stop the overlap of text and models. (I'm aware the quality is low but this was made using old playblasts to test the final look and any spelling errors will be remedied too)

Early Pre-Viz Renders | Maya | Fantastic Voyage

These are some renders of my early pre-viz. The UVs have been corrected on the cardboard and many of the pieces have had textures especially made for them. These were made to test the lighting and how the components should look when layered correctly.

FEEDBACK Needed | Pre-viz Set Size | Experimentation | Maya | Fantastic Voyage

After making my pre-viz model of the box, I've began to wonder if I made the 'stage' area too small. So I've created 2 wider versions to see what not only looks better but what would give my animation more space to take place.

I prefer 2 the most as it's not too wide and is probably the closest in size to my real life version, meaning these proportions are more believable. 3 is also a good size and has a lot more space for animating in but I feel it may be too wide.

Any feedback is appreciated

Pre-viz of Box | Render | Maya | Fantastic Voyage

Maya - pre-viz of box

Maya - pre-vis of open box
I've successfully managed to pre-viz the basic set of my box for the animation. For now, I've also added in a basic cardboard texture to the box to add a bit of depth.
Lighting is a bit of an issue as I keep getting a hot spot at the back but I'm going to try and change some of the lighting and shadow settings to see if this will help.

Feedback please | Test Pre-viz | From Script to Screen

While working on computerizing my storyboard, I thought I should test it out in terms of a pre-viz incase I need to add in some extra shots or even remove some to make it flow. This was made using the original pencil storyboard.

If anyone has any feedback on the shots used or the timing, it would be much appreciated.

Pre-Vis | Work in Progress | Main Factory | From Script to Screen

I've been struggling with the layout of my factory and how to draw it for my storyboards so I have created a quick mock up which will be used as part of my pre-vis. Although it is not completed it is really helping with how my factory layout could potentially be seen and will be a great help when drawing these scenes. This is a work in progress and may potentially change layout as I begin to draw my storyboard out more for the animatic.

Pre-vis Set | Maya

We created a basic set in Maya for use as a Pre-vis. Its in the style of an old school detective office. I've mapped out a few basic items like some lights, rug, desk, chair and two bookshelves full of books. Its fun to create sets like these as you can create a basic set quite quickly without worrying about the poly count.
